Morning Safety Town

Week 1

HALF DAY AM PROGRAM

8:30AM - 11:30AM

June 19 - June 23

Safety Town is one of Rec & Ed's most popular summer educational programs. Your child learns safety awareness in a fun and entertaining way using a child-sized mock Ann Arbor "town" explored on bikes. Children learn how to distinguish the difference between safe and unsafe when confronted with potentially dangerous situations. Some of our guest speakers include police officers, firefighters, "Louie the Lightning Bug", and water safety specialists. Songs, games, stories and art projects reinforce the lessons about: Bike and vehicle safety Fire and electricity safety School bus passenger safety Water and pedestrian safety And more! Safety Town is even more fun with Fall 2023 classmates! We try to place children with others attending their school. This gives them a chance to meet students from their class before school begins this fall. We also make every effort to place students with friends as long as a special request is included when you register. Parents will receive an email from ePACT following registration. This is where all medical information and other questions MUST be filled out. Will your child benefit from extra support? Let us know so that everyone succeeds! Click here to fill out the Special Needs Planning form. All participants receive a t-shirt and a bike helmet. Scholarships are available for those who qualify financially. All children bring their own NUT-FREE fruit/veggie snack and a filled water bottle.
