Ages: 12 - 23 months with an Adult. Welcome to the world of the one-year-old! We gather together each week to sing, play, and move with other families and same-age peers. Class begins with open-ended time for toddlers to practice walking, climbing, playing and moving around the classroom while socializing and practicing beginning social skills. The train whistle signals the arrival in the station and the beginning of circle time. Led by Andrea Nance and modeled by adult participation, the group will have fun singing and dancing in addition to practicing important gross motor skills like walking backwards, marching, and jumping. Each week includes interactive storytimes, hands-on/kinesthetic activities, phonics-based methods, movement, and independent play centers. Kidokinetics provides athletic enrichment for kids ages 1-12 by introducing various sports and creative activities to foster movement that supports gross motor skill development. The SportsPlay class offers a fun introduction to sports designed to help kids toddlers, preschoolers and their adults get moving and build confidence! Each week features a warm-up song and stretch, an introduction to a new sport or activity (kickball, frisbee, scoops, hula hoops, football, ninja-style agility, etc), an interactive game, and an age-appropriate anatomy and physiology lesson to help bring awareness to our amazing bodies. Hannah reads a different book each week to begin and then class moves to the related art project where participants may continue to talk about the story and how it connects to their work.
