All fall Youth Instructional Sports classes will be in-person, may be outdoors,

and the AAPS Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols will be followed. The document contains an overview of the current prevention and mitigation strategies for Fall 2021. As information and guidance about Covid-19 changes, these strategies and levels of deployment art subject to change. The MOST up to date prescreening questionnaire for all participants can be found here.

Karate Practice

Little Ninjas Karate

Grades: Pre - K. 

Little Ninjas teaches introductory martial arts skills to young children ages 4 and 5. The class is catered to the abilities and attention span of this age group. Children will learn discipline, self-control, respect for teachers, parents and classmates, physical fitness and coordination, balance, memory and focus. Learning is done through fun games and activities, and experienced, professional martial arts instructors keep the children moving and engaged.

Grades: 1st - 6th. 

Students learn self-defense, physical fitness and coordination, teamwork, anti-kidnapping techniques, self-discipline, respect for parents and teachers, and self-confidence in a positive, fun environment with experienced professional martial arts instructors. At the end of the course they will have completed the introductory curriculum of the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do and will receive their yellow belt, the first of many steps toward a black belt if they wish to pursue it. 6 classes.

Ages: 4.5-6 years. 

Fall in Ann Arbor is the perfect time for our NEW beginning cheerleading class in the dance studio of the CAB. Children will learn the basics of cheerleading including the fundamentals of motion technique, jumps, voice, stretching and more. Introducing all of these elements helps gain effective body control, strength, flexibility, and self-confidence. Class includes learning cheerleading routines in their entirety. Gina brings vast experience coaching cheer, choreography, and dance around Ann Arbor. A performance is included at the end of the session.

Little Hoopers

Your child can learn the fast-paced and fun game of basketball right after school. This class will teach the fundamentals of ball control, passing, shooting and defense with engaging drills and small sided games. In addition to introducing the basics, students will enjoy a fun time with friends and challenging physical activity. 6 classes.

This class is designed to take place in a small group setting to develop and sharpen the basics of dribbling, shooting, and playing defense. Whether your child is new to the sport, or has years of experience, Coach Grek will use a series of fun drills and games to help your child learn the fundamentals of the game. Written analysis of your child's skills will be provided along with take home drills to practice. 6 classes.

Fencers will be introduced to electronic scoring and bouting using the same system seen at the Olympics! This class will prepare students for intermediate or competitive level Fencing. 4 classes.
