Extended care for campers enrolled in FULL-DAY Winter Break camps at Slauson Middle School. Join our staff for structured activities or independent play. Group crafts, gym/outside time, books, puzzles and games will be available. Each day, campers will choose what they want to do. One fee covers both time periods (7:30-9am and 4-5:30pm) for the entire week - no prorating based on attendance.

Did you know clothes can talk? The clothing you choose to wear reveals something about who you are, including your personality, values, and culture. This winter, you’ll join the Doodles Academy team to discover how clothing styles from the past intertwine with modern styles and how fashion has become a powerful visual language. And as we explore these ideas, you’ll get to make your own fashion statements! You’ll create a weaving, design a full outfit, alter a pair of shoes, and craft a hat. At the end of the session, you’ll get to share one of your creations during our fashion parade! All supplies are included.
Twin Knights Chess Camp

Twin Knights Chess camp is for kids who have never played, those who have had some instruction and those who are familiar with the rules and some tactics. Campers will learn chess history, etiquette, piece movement, relative values of the pieces, common opening moves, middlegame and endgame strategies and tactics. They will practice under tournament conditions, analyze games of famous players, solve puzzles and have fun with playing bughouse. There will be trophies and other prizes. Instructor: All The King’s Men Staff.

G-Powers Basketball Camp - NEW!

The G-Powers Basketball Camp is designed for participants with prior experience in the sport of basketball. Want to sharpen your skills in dribbling, shooting, setting screens, and playing defense? Coach Grek will offer a series of fun activities and drills, and practice in-game situations to help you master the fundamentals of the game.

The modern Olympic sport of fencing engages both mind and body. It is physically and mentally demanding and teaches problem solving as well as improved reflexes and agility. Fencing is unique in that a certain body type is not required. Fencing encourages different styles based on size and strength, and fencers are taught the importance of showing respect, regardless of the outcome. All equipment is included – campers should dress in sports clothing and sneakers. This camp is designed to introduce children ages 7-14 to the sport. They will learn basic footwork and bladework while learning simple fencing tactics and rules. Instructors: Coach Eden Philpot, North American Cup medalist.

In addition to improving muscle control and coordination, campers will gain confidence, listening skills, and self-awareness. They will be free to express themselves through movement in a safe, fun, disciplined, and friendly environment. Campers will also learn about hip hop culture and what it means to be a Bboy or Bgirl.
