beginning Monday, November 29 at 8:00AM.

All Winter Break Camps will be

in-person and the AAPS Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols will be followed. The document contains an overview of the current prevention and mitigation strategies for Winter 2022. As information and guidance about Covid-19 changes, these strategies and levels of deployment art subject to change. The MOST up to date prescreening questionnaire for all participants can be found here.

Skyline Basketball Academy CoEd

Grades: 4th-8th. 

Join the Skyline Boys Basketball team led by Head Varsity Coach Mike Lovelace. The Skyline basketball coaching staff and players will help improve your game by working on both offensive and defensive fundamentals. Enjoy skill competitions and scrimmages with new friends divided up by skill/experience level. This camp meets at Skyline High School.

Fencer with Mask

Intro to Fencing

Ages: 7-14. 

The modern Olympic sport of fencing engages both mind and body. It is physically and mentally demanding and teaches problem solving as well as improved reflexes and agility. This camp is designed to introduce children ages 7-14 to the sport. They will learn basic footwork and bladework while learning simple fencing tactics and rules.

Twin Knights Chess

Ages: 7-13. 

Twin Knights Chess camp is for kids who have never played, those who have had some instruction and those who are familiar with the rules and some tactics. Campers will learn chess history, etiquette, piece movement, relative values of the pieces, common opening moves, middlegame and endgame strategies and tactics. They will practice under tournament conditions, analyze games of famous players, solve puzzles and have fun with playing bughouse.

Come join Michigan Futsal Factory Academy staff for a new Soccer experience. This camp is for the beginner to immediate player and is designed to give players a unique opportunity to experience many forms of Soccer played around the world and how they benefit players. Learn the basics of soccer through fun games and activities and finish each day with a friendly game of World Cup.

The Magic of Art & Craft

Ages: 8-10. 

We’ll take inspiration from winter landscapes + snowy grounds + sparkly skies during this week-long workshop. Process-based creation allows your artist to discover the magic in the art-making methods! Students will explore a variety of materials in this magical winter-themed camp including: A paper mache cozy cabin using found treasures, layering and texture methods, snowy printmaking project using handmade papers and collage techniques, directed draw and paint session using watercolor and tempera paints, AND 3D snowflakes - four ways!

Build your own “Gravity Defying Object” as we investigate the concept of Center of Gravity, Static Electricity Wands that can actually make things float, Crazy Flying Objects, Speedy Robots, and so much more!

Stop-Motion Animation

Ages: 11-13. 

Grab your iPhone, iPad, iPod, Android or Chromebook, and join media specialist, Jeanne Ruff, to explore and create a Stop-Motion Animation! Use non-hardening clay to build movable characters. Follow a production process, and be guided through the development of a stop-motion animation movie. Make concept sketches using your own character by collaborating and brainstorming ideas onto a storyboard showing camera angles, action, and scene set design.

Is it possible to make water DISAPPEAR? This all may seem like MAGIC, but the Nutty Scientists explore these amazing things and more as we show “it’s not magic, it’s SCIENCE!”
